Installing CWM Recovery In The Gionee P2/ Walton Primo F2

How To Install CWM Recovery in The Gionee P2/ Walton Primo F2:

Step 1:

Download the Drivers here :

Step 2: (Installing The Drivers) 

This step is unnecessary if the MTK USB Drivers are already installed.

Unrar the archive. First open the folder called "Driver'' and extract the ''USB VCOM Driver" onto your desktop.

Open Control Panel and open 'Device Manager'.

Select the first option/device and  select the option called 'Action'  and select 'Add Legacy Hardware'

Select 'Install Hardware Manually' and press 'Next' a few times.

Now select 'Have Disk' and select the .inf  file from the folder, within the "USB VCOM Driver" (extracted on your desktop) that corresponds to the OS of your computer.

(If your Computer has a 64 bit OS, then select the file that has 64 in its name).

Now the drivers should finish installing.

Restart your computer.

Step 3:

Download the Recovery package here:

Unrar the archive to your desktop and open the folder ''CWM Recovery_P2_F2''.

In that folder open this folder: ''SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1312.0.139''.

Then open a small blue application called ''Flash_tool.exe".

You should see this:


1.Select 'Downloading Agent' and navigate to the ''SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1312.0.139'' folder that's within the ''CWM Recovery_P2_F2'' folder, on your desktop.

2.Select the file: ''MTK_AllInOne_DA" and press 'Open'.



3.Once this is done, select the option: ''Scatter Loading'' and navigate to the folder "CWM Recovery_P2_F2" on your desktop.

4.Select the file: ''MT6572_Android_scatter'' and press open.


5.Remove the battery from your phone.

6.After the files in the flash tools are loaded select the 'Download' option and connect your phone (with the battery removed).

7.It should start updating. Then insert the battery into your phone and wait for a few minutes.

You should see a green circle open up in a window.

8.Its Done. Remove the phone's USB connection, then remove and re-insert the battery into your phone.

9.Switch on the phone.

10.Finish the initial steps of setting up your phone.

If you reboot to recovery you'll have CWM Recovery. Enjoy :)

How To Unbrick The Gionee P2 (CWM Recovery Included):

(Simplified Guide)

Dear Developers, here's a guide on how to unbrick your Gionee P2:


Step 1:

Download the F2 Firmware here :

Step 2: (Installing The Drivers)

Unrar the archive. First open the folder called "Driver'' and extract the ''USB VCOM Driver" onto your desktop.

In the extracted folder called 'F2 Firmware', you will find two folders: ''Flash tools'' and ''Software''.

Open ''Flash Tools'' and extract ''SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v3.1312.0.139'' to your desktop.

Now open ''Software'' and extract '' Primo-F2_0301_T5159" to your desktop.

Open the folder  ''SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v3.1312.0.139'' (There are a few nested folders so just keep opening them). You will find a blue icon called ''Flash_tool.exe''. Open the application.

You should see this:


1.Select 'Downloading Agent' and navigate to the ''SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1312.0.139'' folder that's within the ''SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v3.1312.0.139'' folder, on your desktop.

2.Select the file: ''MTK_AllInOne_DA" and press 'Open'.



3.Once this is done, select the option: ''Scatter Loading'' and navigate to the folder "Primo-F2_0301_T519" on your desktop.

4.Select the file: ''MT6572_Android_scatter'' and press open.


5.Remove the battery from your phone.

6.After the files in the flash tools are loaded select the 'Firmware Upgrade' option and connect your phone (with the battery removed).

7.It should start updating. Then insert the battery into your phone and wait for a few minutes.



You should see a green circle open up in a window.



8.Its Done. Remove the phone's USB connection, then remove and re-insert the battery into your phone.

9.Switch on the phone.

Congrats! You just unbricked your Gionee P2! :)

If you reboot to recovery you'll have CWM Recovery. Enjoy :)

Installing Beats Audio In The Gionee P2

How to install Beats Audio to Gionee P2/Walton Primo F2:


*This operation cannot be performed if the phone(Gionee P2/Walton F2) is not rooted.

 Please refer to my previous post on how to root the Gionee P2/Walton F2 if you want to do it.

Requirements:

1. Rooted Gionee P2
2.CWM Recovery

3.Beats package

Step 1:

Download the ''AwesomeBEATS_v5_Aroma'' on either your phone or your computer.

Here's the link:  http://www.4shared.com/zip/wNCfVELRba/AwesomeBEATS_v5_Aroma.html

Step 2:

Install the ''AwesomeBEATS_v5_Aroma'' on your phone through the CWM Recovery. Just select the option ''Install Zip From SD Card''. Do not Wipe ANYTHING.

The aroma installer will start and will help in the installation.

The phone will reboot and you will have this "Awesome Beats" app in your app drawer:




 Once you open the app, you should see this:


Congrats! You have successfully  installed  Beats Audio onto your P2.

How To Root The Gionee Pioneer P2


Dear Android developers, the Gionee P2 is a great phone that offers value for money. But the benefits of rooting it are endless. Hence here's a guide on how to do it.

Requirements :

1. A computer (running Windows 7)
2.Original Gionee data/USB cable
3.Gionee p2
4.Working Internet Connection

Step 1:

Data Backup:

Backup your contacts, apps, messages etc.. into your sd card or the phone memory.

Step 2:

This step is Recommended but  is not Necessary if your phone has the Walton Primo F2 Firmware. 

Factory Data Reset:

Please go ahead with step ONLY if you got the OTA update mentioned below, on your stock ROM.
This is an important step, especially if you recently received an OTA update that installed Bubble Birds 2, and a few other useless games and apps. Rooting is not possible in the presence of this OTA update.


Initial Adjustments Before Rooting:(Must Do)

1.Disable 'NQ Antivirus'

Settings>Apps>All>(Select NQ Mobile Security)>(Select Force stop)>(Select Disable)

2.Enable your phone to install apps from 'Unknown Sources'

Settings>Security>(Check 'Unknown Sources')

3.Disable the Google Play app verification

Settings>Security>(Deselect 'Verify Apps' option)

4.Enable USB Debugging

Settings>Developer Options>(Select 'USB debugging')


Step 3:

Set up your phone in the initial steps. Then download PdaNet from here

 http://www.4shared.com/file/DHNTPM6Q/PdaNetA4126.html  and install it.

 Check  'others' and click next till the drivers get installed.

Step 4 :

After installing PdaNet, disconnect the phone from the computer. You can see the PdaNet app in your app drawer. Uninstall it and reboot your phone.

After the phone is rebooted, restart your computer and reconnect your phone.

Step 5:

Download the SRSRoot application on the computer.

Click on the 'Root Device(Smart Root)'  and follow the instructions in the application itself.


After selecting the 'Root Device(Smart Root)' option, the application will run a few operations and a prompt will be sent to your phone.

 Select the 'Install Super SU' option and select the 'Boromir' Exploit and press ok.







Now, SRSRoot will finish the process and ask you to reboot the phone.

Disconnect your phone and reboot. You should see the 'SuperSu' app in the app drawer.

Verification:

Download the Root Checker app from the play store on your phone or from the link.

Install the app and open it. Select  the 'Verify Root Access' option. You should get something like this:





Congrats! You have just rooted your Gionee P2  :)
